Senior Studio Assistant
The Alabaster Jar is seeking to appoint a part-time Senior Studio Assistant to work in a busy pottery painting studio which provides a wide range of ready-made pots for customers to paint, and a service for taking clay imprints, all of which are fired on site. We also host parties, private bookings and school groups. We serve snacks and drinks for customers during their visit.
The post on offer is a guaranteed 3 days per week which includes working on weekdays, weekends, bank holidays and some evenings on a rota basis. The successful candidate will work a variety of shifts to fit the demands of the business, which operates 6 days per week. Additional hours may be available by agreement if the business requires.
As a small independent business, it is crucial that applicants can foster good working relationships with other members of the small team of dedicated staff, as well being able to work alone when necessary.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced customer facing environment and be able to provide a high quality, friendly service to customers.
All applicants must have GCSE Maths and English to Grade C equivalent or above. Please note that we cannot accept applicants who are under 18 years old as the role will require lone working.
Experience with ceramics, retail and food would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be provided.
